Cuttle Log
4-11-06 - Flamboyant (Metasepia pfefferi) eggs are to arrive on 4-13-06
4-10-06 Cuttle Count totals 4 bandensis. 1 Nine month year old (2 inches) and 3 4 month year olds (3/4-1 inch)
4-10-06 - I lost one adult 9 month year old bandensis. Ive no idea what happened. I doubt aggression or fighting was involved. Perhaps my salinity was a little high? I do not feel this death is related to the introduction of the juveniles.
4-9-06 - I experimented with placing a 4 month old bandensis with 9 month old bandesis. I placed the 4 month old in a clear breeder and floated it in the main tank to observe reactions. These bandensis have never met. I did not see any outwardly aggressive displays, so I let the 4 month old free into the main tank. It appears that there is no problems with combining captive bread bandensis of different ages that have never met. I then transfered the other 2 four month old bandensis from the juvenile section to the main tank.
4/7/06 - Just ordered a festoon of Flamboyant Eggs!!!
2/09/06 - 2 more eggs. I see three total. One is still dangling in the cave and two were on the sand. I removed the two and placed it in a breeder. These are tear drop shaped as well.
2/06/06 - I saw the first egg in the tank today. They are tear drop shaped. Im concerned if they are fertile or not. Well see
1/21/06 - Lost a couple babies to canabolism. One of the larger babies is a serial killer apparently.
1/9/06 - Released the 6 babies from breeder to the juvenile section
12/28/05 - Current count of cuttles is 12 bandensis. Four 5 Month old sexually mature guys in the main tank andseven 1.5 month old babies in the training center.
12/22/05 - Damien (5 month old officianlais) Dies of a freak powerhead accident. This death is still mysterious. Tiffany sees him stick to the spinning part of the powerhead. The Outtake! and he blopws off into rocks, lays there breathing heavily and dies instantly. I cannot imagine a physical injury killing him instantly like this. Was is shock, internal damage?
Things that may have been related to this death are feeding a lot of guppies this week due to lack of shrimp. Something awry in water? I checked ammonia and other areas which all read 0. I performed a 30 percent water change in case.
